JAJL is now officially packaged for Pythinux, the open-source project adjacent to an operating system.
This means that Pythinux programs can now run JAJL code through libjajl
and users can use the jajl
package as a frontend.
This separation was done specifically for Pythinux in order to allow for custom programs to run JAJL code without relying on the frontend.
Pythinux is an open-source project I (the creator and maintainer of JAJL) run. It's a sort-of operating system and I think it's really cool.
You can check it out here: https://pythinux.codeberg.page/.
Another thing in the world alongside a JAJL frontend is an official IDE.
It's a fork of the tron2
package, a text editor written
using Tk.
Currently, it supports syntax highlighting, but it doesn't support running code just yet.
More work will be done soon.
This is just a quick update and also a form of cross-promotion for a far cooler project than JAJL, as well as an acknowledgement that no, JAJL is not forgotten, and yes, 1.2 will be released *soon*.
